Please note the included GP2040-CE firmware offers limited compatibility with both PS4 and PS5 consoles straight out of the box! However, please note that, like other controllers not officially licensed by Sony, it will be subjected to an 8-minute timeout when used on consoles. Additionally, it will only function on the PS5 with games that have PS4 compatibility.
Bypassing the 8-Minute Timeout:
We understand that the 8-minute timeout may interrupt your gaming sessions. To overcome this limitation, there are two known options:
1) Brook Wingman Adapter: One option is to use the Brook Wingman adapter. By purchasing the appropriate adapter for your desired gaming system, you can bypass the timeout and enjoy uninterrupted gameplay. Please note that the adapter should be compatible with the specific console you intend to use. For further information and assistance regarding this option, we recommend reaching out to the adapter manufacturer or authorized sellers.
2) Disassembling an Official DualShock 4 Controller: Another option involves the process of disassembling an official DualShock 4 controller to obtain the necessary authentication keys. While we don't provide direct support for this method, it allows you to bypass the timeout. However, it's important to exercise caution during the disassembly process to ensure the integrity of the controller. Please note that acquiring the authentication keys requires thorough research and expertise. We can not help with securing keys.
